Lane confusion dogs BRTS on maiden stretch PUNE: Dedicated lanes, touted as the mainstay of a successful Bus Rapid Transit System, are absent in Pimpri Chinchwad's facility. Four stretches have been chosen for the BRTS. While the Nigdi to Dapodi route may go operational in two-three months, the remaining three are in various stages of development. In the absence of exclusive lanes, bus drivers would drive with mixed traffic, defeating the purpose of a BRTS. Officials had no answers to the traffic problems and road accidents arising out of such a situation.
