JAIPUR: The Union Cabinet during its meeting on Friday approved the Jaipur Metro project. The government of India has sent the approval letter to state urban development department.
"Both phases -- 9.25 km route from Mansarovar to Chandpol and the second phase will be completed on public private partnership model," said a government official.
He said all resources to be used in the project have been identified to ensure its completion on time.
Notably, state governments have to seek permission from the union government for final approval on construction work of this project. Sources said that this approval letter will help the concerned authorities in acquiring land and granting approval from concerned authorities.
