Urban Transport Sector
As per a study got conducted by the Ministry of Urban Development through M/s Wilbur Smith Associates Pvt. Ltd. in selected cities, daily trips are anticipated to double from 2286 lakh to 4819 lakh during the next 24 years.
The transport sector emission is reported from road transport, aviation, railways and shipping. In 2007, road transport sector alone emitted about 142 million tones of CO2 equivalent.
