PCMC`S first BRTS route to be functional by end of the year

The Much awaited bus service on the first route of the bus rapid transit system (BRTS) - from Dapodi to Nigdi on the Pune- Mumbai Highway
being implemented in the twin township by the PCMC is expected to be functional by the end of the year.


Work on Aundh- Ravet Route Progresses

The PCMC is likely to complete the bus rapid transit system (BRTS) route on the Aundh - Ravet road, except the stretch that passes through
Defence land, by the end of the year. civic official have said that around 68% of the work has already been completed.

PMPML buses in demand

When it comes to sa transport of students, some cit schools prefer the Pune Ma hanagar Parivahan Ma hamandal Limited (PMPML buses over other modes of transport. However,

the public transport undertaking cannot meet the expectation as it does not have the required numbe of buses. At present, there are 55 bus es provided under contract to schools,

PMPML's traffic man ager Sunil Gawli told TOI. I addition, there are another 25 buses which transport school children.




PCMC proposes third party inspection for civic projects Times of India, Pune



The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has proposed to appoint an additional agency for third party inspection of civic projects to be undertaken in 2011-12.

While the corporation already has one agency for inspection of civic projects, the need for the second agency has been felt because the corporation is planning to implement

over 2,500 different projects and works as part of the civic budget.
